Good price for photochromatic sunglass Jun 04, 2008
By E. Lau I've used these sunglasses for a week and driven while wearing them for several hours.
First, the orange lens reminds me of the BluBlockers I owned a few years ago, but unlike those, these sunglasses do not remove all of the blue colors (blue color focuses on spots before it reaches the retina, making anything with blue color appear blury) as removing all blue colors can be dangerous when color recognition is important (such as when distinguishing between traffic light colors while driving). The photochromatic lens can stay on my face under conditions beyond other glasses - they darken in the bright, glaring mid-day sun and I did not squint at all. and in approaching darkness at twilight, I could still wear them when other sunglasses had to come off.
The frame is made of strong "ABS"-like plastic that can withstand being tossed around. They are designed to hug the face snugly - you can wear them even for sports and they won't come off easily. They're also lightweight, comfortable and pretty stylish. The only downside is the frame can't be adjusted/bent like metal frames can for better fit.
My only reason not to give this a 5-star rating is that the lens are NOT made of glass. When I purchased them, i was under the assumption all photochromatic lens are made of glass. The reason I prefer glass is that I tend to be rough with sunglasses, particularly those I wear day-in/day-out - tossing them around etc and most of them inadvertently get scratched after a few weeks' use. While Serengeti says these are scratch-resistant lens (and lighter than glass lens), I'm not sure how long mine will hold up before the first scratch appears.

By David Oimas I have been wearing Serengeti Sunglasses for about 20 years and ride motorcycle a lot. This is the best pair yet, fit like I had them made for me.

Serengeti Nov 10, 2007
By J. symolon Bought my first pair about 20 years ago when I sold sunglasses. A quality sunglass for the price. I specifically bought these because of the tint in the lens. The tint removes the blue and is more comfortable to wear

Because sometimes life is a little too bright.... May 23, 2006
By K. Swanson Tried every pair of shades in a dozen sunglass stores...these were the only ones as light and comfortable as my old favorites, Vuarnets, with a lense as optically crisp...and best of all, they make them in a rose-colored tint, which helps lighten dusk driving, and makes everything you see seem just a little bit sweeter. They really do make a psychological difference...mellowing and soothing, like a good Cabernet,
but for the eyes.
Who says it ain't right to see life through rose-colored lenses? Not I! Make it as purty as possible...why not?
With a pair of these on, and serious headphones connected to your favorite mp3 player, you can go anywhere on the planet and be the writer, director and star of your own movie, comfortably separated from your supporting cast of billions.
Live a little. Spend the cash. These are Quality.
