Poor fit May 14, 2010
By Robert W. Moses
"Caladan"
This shoe has very stiff ankle construction which caused me severe rubbing sore after only 15 minutes of wearing. Using pliers to bend/loosen it the way I've done with other shoes did no good on this shoe. I am giving it to Goodwill.

Order slightly larger? Jun 26, 2008
By onlychild I got the "black" which is actually charcoal-grey (as another reviewer stated) but it was expected, so I'm cool with that. However I am confused about the opposite size issue I had as compared to yet another reviewer. I comfortably wear a Men's US size 8, but the first thing I thought when I slipped this on was "wow, my big toe has *no* wiggle room". (My Columbia slip-ons at Men's US 7.5 felt a bit more comfy in comparison.) Tight-feeling toe room in this may be due more to the hard rubber toe-front, but I'd still go for 1/2 inch more if I ordered this Rocket Dog slip-on again.
Aside from that, it's good for $20. ..despite the odd felt(?!) on the bottom of the sole. Wasn't expecting to have this as a strictly indoor shoe, so i guess that will rub off eventually. no biggie.

Very nice shoes! Feb 06, 2008
By Miguel Angel Duverg Very nice pair of shoes, the only complain that i'd have is that they are not really black, they are dark grey. but besides that, very good!

Order small, very small. Apr 24, 2008

"cooler than thou"
I ordered a 10 and when it arrived, both myself and a friend agreed it felt more like an 11 even an 11 and a 1/2. I returned them and thankfully ordered an 8 and 1/2 (One and a half sizes smaller than I usually wear). The 8 1/2 feels snug like you would want for a slip on style shoe, however if an 8 were readily available to try on I would be curious to see if it would fit even better.
Aside from size issues, they feel well put together; durable. They look a bit too clean brand new, I hope, as it seems they should, they break-in nicely and fray ever so. They hemp takes dye unevenly so it provides the shoe with a very natural look. Thick sole so you won't feel every pebble.
Only real concerns are the elastic webbings on either side of the tongue and the strangely place felt on the bottom of the shoe. I wonder how long the elastic will hold and if/when it fails will the shoe be too loose to wear. The felt takes away from the traction in exchange for a sort of slipper type look for anyone who crosses their legs to expose the bottoms. Brand new the felt picks up hair and lint. Either way its the bottom of a shoe and probably wont last a week.
Glad I picked them up for only 20 bucks, worth well more, but not sure if I like them enough to pay more than 20.
FOUR MONTHS LATER:
I am tough on shoes, but these shoes are falling apart faster than any shoe I have ever worn. Perhaps they are not meant for the rigors of bike riding and light sports that I put them through... They each have holes (2) around where the knuckle of your big AND little toe are. The hemp is peeling up and the the rubber is cracked and loosing connection. The insole with the 'cute' cartoon, I had to cut out because the glue did not hold and it got wrinkled and shredded. They look awesome though! Grundge Hipster Homeless sort of thing, but they won't last long.
